I currently serve on two committees in the Parliament.  The committees I serve on are the Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works and the Standing Committee on the Scrutiny of Bills.

The Public Works Committee, of which I am deputy chair, will consider each public work that is considered to it in accordance with the Public Works Committee Act. 

The Scrutiny of Bills Committee assesses legislative proposals against a set of accountability standards that focus on the effect of proposed legislation on individual rights, liberties and obligations, and on parliamentary propriety.

I am also a member of other committee groups which are different to Legislative and Standing Committees.  The other committees I participate in are the Parliamentary Group on Population and Development and the Coalition Education and Industry Committee (Education, Training, Workplace Relations and Communications, Industry, Small Business and Tourism).
